Hurricane Harvey and Human Generosity Shown Through Powerful Photos
It’s amazing how Nature can be so nurturing and soothing, and yet so terribly devastating. Once again, Mother Nature has shown her destructive power sending hurricane Harvey to batter southeastern Texas coast, including the city of Houston. This storm has been ranked as Category 4 hurricane.
This natural disaster is still afflicting the region and hasn’t been merciful towards Texas residents. Destructive flooding, calamitous winds and powerful downpour “have so far cost at least 39 lives, driven over one million people to evacuate their homes in Texas and caused extensive destruction that will likely make it one of the costliest storms in U.S. history.” (source)
Fortunately, in such times of trouble, many good and humane people and organizations have once again proven that we are all here to help each other and will always remain in service to those in need.
The Internet has been flooded with heart-rending photos and stories ever since Harvey made landfall at Rockport, Texas, in the early morning hours of Saturday, August 26, 2017. These photos and stories are a true reflection of humaneness, compassion, rescue, generosity, and community.
The following are some of the ones that are making headlines and stirring hearts throughout the world.
Take a look at the photos below to witness what is referred to as “the worst disaster in Texas history.”
Our prayers go out to all those affected by this devastating event.
