Simple Drug-Free Method for Instant Headache Relief

Performing Acupressure

  1. Yintang Point

One of the six main acupressure points for headache relief is located just above the root of the nose and between the eyebrows, an area also known as the glabella. This point is known as the third eye, or Yintang, and its stimulation can relieve both headaches and eye fatigue.

  1. Zan Zhu Points

A second acupressure point, or more precisely points, is located at the base of each of the inner edges of the eyebrows. Apply gentle pressure or rub gently using circular motions for at least 1 minute. This will relieve headaches, soothe a runny nose, and enhance visual acuity.

  1. Yingxiang Points

Another useful acupressure point is located on either side of the nose, at the beginning of the fold in the skin that runs from the nose to the edge of the mouth. In order to locate these points, follow the line from your eyes down to the area previously described.  Try to feel a dimple in the bottom of the cheekbones. The stimulation of these points provides great relief from headaches, toothaches, and stress, as well as helps with sinus congestion.

  1. Tian Zhu Points

The Tian Zhu points are found at both sides on the back of the neck, near the base of the skull, between the ear and the beginning of the spine. Press on these points to alleviate headaches, migraines, pain in the ears and eyes, as well as nasal congestion.

  1. Shuai Gu Points

The location of these acupressure points is 2-3 cm from the beginning of the hairline, below the temple area and above the ears. To locate them feel a dimple in this area. By pressing on these points, you’ll get relief from pain in the temporal region and eye fatigue.

  1. He Gu Points

Last but not the least, the He Gu points are found on both hands, between the thumb and forefinger. Besides headache relief, massaging these points will also provide relief from toothaches, back pain, and neck muscle tension.

Although headaches can be quite common for some of you, painkillers should not be your first choice for getting relief. There are numerous methods other than taking drugs that can provide similar or even better results in relieving headaches.
